REQUIREMENT
The industrial equipment supplier needed cycle counts within their distribution center, so required RGIS to provide the following:
- Monthly cyclical counts
- A complete inventory count of the distribution center
- Experienced auditors able to complete both types of counts
- Variance reports to be created
SOLUTION
The industrial equipment supplier partnered with RGIS to complete the industrial equipment monthly cycle count project, and provided the following:
- Scheduled two teams of experienced RGIS auditors
- A team of three RGIS auditors for 14 hours, to complete a monthly cycle count
- A team of 15 RGIS auditors for three days to complete a full inventory count
RESULTS
The industrial equipment supplier found that by outsourcing the industrial equipment monthly cycle count project to RGIS to complete, the following was achieved:
- 26,000 units of stock accurately counted on monthly cycle counts
- 185,000 units of stock in main inventory count was accurately counted
- Variance report identified missing stock
- Did not need to use internal staff to complete the inventory counts
